One cannot help but be fascinated by the number of possibilities out there on the internet. I recently found this recipe and my daughter has been asking for it. So here it is, (very) slightly modified.
They came out light and fluffy, moist with a taste that was not sweet at all. They can be served at breakfast or for snacks, you can take them on road trips or serve them in the Fall or for holidays.

Recipe

1/2 cup butter
2/3 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons apple spice
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup applesauce
Walnut halves for decoration

1.       Preheat oven to 350 degree F (175 degrees C). Line a muffin pan with paper liners.
2.       In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar. Add eggs, and beat until smooth. Blend in apple spice, baking powder, and baking soda.
3.       Alternately add in a half cup of applesauce, one cup of flour, remaining applesauce, and remaining flour. Stir until just blended together.
4.       Pour batter into muffin cups 2/3's of the way full. Bake in preheated 350 degree F (175 degrees C) oven for 24 minutes. Makes a dozen muffins.

http://cuisiner.journaldesfemmes.com/forum/affich-41979-ou-acheter-de-la-creme-de-tartre
http://fr.chatelaine.com/cuisine/trucs-et-conseils-cuisine/remplacer-la-creme-de-tartre/

A bientôt.
